KUALA TERENGGANU: Former Terengganu Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Razif Abd Rahman was today present at the handing over of duties ceremony to his successor Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar at Wisma Darul Iman here.
Both of them also chatted for almost 15 minutes before signing the handover documents. Also present were Acting State Secretary Datuk A Rahman Yahya and the state executive councillors.
Ahmad Samsuri said the presence of the former mentri besar was a good start to the cooperation of both parties in driving Terengganu to become a developed, blessed and prosperous state.
He also reiterated his stand to continue and improve beneficial programmes for the people which had been introduced by the previous state government.
Asked whether Terengganu PAS would cooperate with the state Barisan Nasional in claiming royalties from the federal government, he said PAS was willing to cooperate with any party for the benefit of the people.
"What needs to be understood is that politics itself is the goal of solving problems, rather than seeking problems.
"The presence of the former mentri besar today is a historic moment for the state ... I deeply appreciate his presence," he said, describing Ahmad Razif as a magnanimous leader.
