Anwar to meet Agong at noon
SHAH ALAM: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V has granted an audience to Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and two other PKR leaders at the Istana Negara today, PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said today.
Mohamed Azmin said the two other party leaders were himself and PKR president Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
The trio were expected to be having an audience with the King at 12pm at Istana Negara.
Mohamed Azmin said he had received the confirmation directly through a letter from Sultan Muhammad V late last night.
"I will go straight away to Cheras Rehabilitation Centre (where Anwar was hospitalised) to inform him on the new development.
"We will arrange his movement to allow him to be at Istana Negara at 12," he in a press conference at the state secretariat building.
Anwar, who is currently serving a jail term after being convicted for sodomy, is expected to be given a royal pardon from the King.
