Don’t rush decisions, prioritise party members, Muhyiddin tells Johor MB

KUALA LUMPUR: Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has advised newly-appointed Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Osman Sapian not to rush into making decisions concerning the state and the party and to prioritise members of Pakatan Harapan (PH).

This came after it was leaked that Osman had chosen to appoint former Kota Tinggi district council president Fizwan Rashidi, an ex-Umno member, as his private secretary.

Muhyiddin, who is Johor PH chairman, said Osman should instead look at the wealth of candidate options in PH, whom he believed possessed great potentials too at undertaking the tasks at hand.

"I have already advised him not to be rash, as we have to be careful especially in these early days.

"He (Osman) is new, so maybe he doesn't have the experience and I have expressed my opinion that it is members of PH who are supposed to be given priority.

"Although many might not know the name (Fizwan), he is believed to be a former Umno member. It's best that Osman consider other options so that it doesn't anger or cause dissatisfaction among our members," he told reporters when met at Anwar's residence, here, yesterday.

Muhyiddin, who is also PPBM president, said as a leader from Johor, precedence should be given to party members who had struggled together, including in the aspect of leadership and policy-making.

According to media reports, a Johor Civil Service transfer notice of Fizwan, who is believed to be close to Barisan Nasional (BN), has leaked, upsetting PH leaders there that Osman had decided to pick a former Umno member.

This came just days after three Umno assemblymen - Datuk Rasman Ithnain (Sedili), Rosleli Jahari (Johor Lama) and Alwiyah Talib (Endau) - jumped ship from Umno to PPBM.
