Malaysian students now have the option to pursue an education under the highly-regarded Victorian curriculum with the opening of Peninsula International School Australia right here in Malaysia.
The Victorian module of study is known to provide a holistic learning experience that seeks to nurture students according to their capabilities and aptitudes, rather than their age.
On completion of his/her education at the Peninsula International School Australia, students will be awarded the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), a tertiary qualification which is widely accepted across leading universities in Australia, the United Kingdom, Europe, the United States of America and Malaysia.
Early this May, deputy commissioner of Victoria to Southeast Asia, Amelia Fyfield, officially launched the Peninsula International School in Setia Alam.
Comprising a primary and secondary school, the education institution spans across a 12-acre mixed development parcel located within an award-winning township. The school is the outcome of a collaboration between the HCK Group and Peninsula Grammar, a reputable institution in Melbourne, Australia.
It is HCK Group’s first international school project apropos the Peninsula brand.
The Peninsula International School Australia can accommodate 2,000 students and boasts state-of-the-art facilities like science laboratories, a music room, a modern library, a swimming pool, an indoor sports hall, two outdoor games courts, one football field and an auditorium with 450 seats.
Its founding principal, Clive Rogers, is a veteran educationist with 40 years of experience in the education industry across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the Carribean. The majority of the school’s faculty members are expatriates who are experienced in nurturing young minds.
“This is the most exciting international partnership in our school’s history. It is based on a shared commitment towards excellence in education and the necessity to prepare our students for a global society that is more interconnected than ever before,” said Peninsula Grammar principal Stuart Johnston.
Classes at the school in Setia Alam commenced in January this year while the school in Ipoh is expected to be up and running by Jan 2019.
The HCK Group is no stranger to education. The company is involved in a diverse range of businesses, from property to investments and education. Its executive chairman, Tan Sri Clement Hii, is also the group managing director of SEGi University and Colleges.
