PUTRAJAYA: Election Commission (EC) chairman Tan Sri Mohd Hashim Abdullah today dismissed allegations that he had gone to the residence of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak in Kuala Lumpur and uttered insults at journalists who were on duty in the vicinity.
He slammed what he referred to as irresponsible reporting of the allegation on two Facebook accounts.
"This is defamatory and malicious. The reports were published in the two Facebook accounts yesterday using pictures and video clips of someone who looked like me.
"This has defamed me and instigated the public to hurl insults at me and posed a threat to my safety," he said in a statement here.
Mohd Hashim said he would lodge a report with the authorities against the operators of the Facebook accounts over their defamatory and malicious action. — Bernama
