Azmin has audience with Sultan of Selangor

SHAH ALAM: Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali is having an audience with the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah at the Istana Bukit Kayangan here.
Mohamed Azmin was seen entering the palace at 11.50am, and is believed to be discussing his position as the mentri besar after he was named Minister of Economic Affairs in the administration of Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
Yesterday, Mohamed Azmin, who is also PKR deputy president, met with Dr Mahathir at the Perdana Leadership Foundation in Putrajaya to discuss his appointment to the Cabinet.
The swearing in ceremony for all the Cabinet ministers is scheduled to be held at Istana Negara tomorrow.
Mohamed Azmin, who is Bukit Antarabangsa assemblyman and Gombak Member of Parliament, was appointed as Selangor Mentri Besar after Pakatan Harapan managed to retain power in the state in the 14th General Election on May 9.
Two assemblymen speculated to take his place are Amiruddin Shari (Sungai Tua) and Dr Shaharuddin Badaruddin (Seri Setia).
As of 1.15pm, Mohamed Azmin has yet to leave the palace. — Bernama
