GEORGE TOWN: A possible reshuffle in the Penang exco line-up has been welcomed by Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) and Amanah assemblymen.
Teluk Bahang assemblyman Zolkifly Md Lazim from PPBM said he welcomed the statement by Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow on the matter.
He said it was important to have representation from Pakatan Harapan (PH) parties in the exco lineup.
Earlier today, Chow indicated that the exco line-up, which did not include assemblymen from PPBM and Amanah, could be reshuffled if necessary.
While PPBM's Bertam assemblyman Khaliq Mehtab Mohd Ishaq said he has no qualms over the possible reshuffle, he thinks it is up to Chow to decide.
"We respect Chow's decision and we will continue our duty in serving the people," he stressed.
He said Chow as the chief executive knows what is the best and it is better to let the Padang Kota assemblyman and Tanjong MP to make the call.
Amanah's Azrul Mahathir Aziz who won the Bayan Lepas seat, said it was for the leadership to decide.
There are seven DAP assemblymen and three from PKR in the current exco line-up, with no representation from Amanah and PPBM.
