KUALA LUMPUR: Ousted prime minister Datuk Sri Najib Abdul Razak has left his residence at Taman Duta here to attend a series of events in Pekan, Pahang.
A five-vehicle convoy said to include Najib's lawyer and aides, were escorted out by two police outriders at 9.20am.
Najib, who is also the Pekan MP, is expected to attend several Umno events, including the launch of party division meetings.
Earlier in the morning, some 50 Puteri Umno representatives visited him at his house.
The visit was led by Tangga Batu Puteri Umno Division Chief Dira Abu Zahar who said the courtesy visit was to show their support for Najib.
Bukit Aman CCID special police team investigating 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) have been searching evidence linked to Najib and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor since last Wednesday, including the couple's private mansion in Taman Duta and three luxury condo units in Pavilion Residences here.
The official residence of the prime minister in Seri Perdana, Putrajaya, and the Prime Minister's Office in Putra Perdana is also being combed.
The confiscated items include several truckloads of boxes containing luxury Hermes, Chanel and Gucci handbags, and suitcases with cash in various currencies.

On Friday, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) had also served the notice on Najib for his statement to be recorded in relation to a probe into SRC International, a former unit of a subsidiary of 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
MACC had initiated a probe on SRC International in 2015 following allegations that it had transferred millions of ringgit into Najib's private accounts.
