Former KSN Hashim Aman dies

KUALA LUMPUR: Former Chief Secretary to the Government (KSN) Tan Sri Hashim Aman died while receiving treatment at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL), here yesterday.
Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa who confirmed the matter said that he was a respected KSN during his lifetime.
He described the late Hashim as a friendly and caring person who always tried to improve the quality of public service.
"I still remember when I joined as administrative and diplomatic (PTD) cadet in 1980 and the late (Hashim) gave much guidance in the duties involving PTD. He was a very experienced man and I extend my condolences to his family," he said when contacted by Bernama.
Prayer was performed for the remains at the Saidina Umar al-Khattab Mosque in Bukit Damansara and burial was after the Asar prayer.
The late Hashim, 89, had served as a civil servant for almost 27 years and had held various positions including as the Secretary General at the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Defence before being appointed as KSN from 1980 to 1984. — Bernama
