New ministers start work today

PUTRAJAYA: Most Pakatan Harapan's new Cabinet ministers clocked in for their first day of work at their respective ministries today.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail arrived at Bangunan Perdana Putra here at 10am before signing the reporting-for-duty letter and attended a special briefing given by the Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa.
Also clocking in for his first day of work today was Home Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, the only members of the new Cabinet who had served under the previous government.
Among those who welcomed him at the Home Ministry (KDN) at 9am were KDN secretary-general Datuk Seri Alwi Ibrahim, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun, and Immigration director-general Datuk Seri Mustafar Ali.
On his first day, Muhyiddin, who is also president of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu), was scheduled to chair the meeting with the heads of departments and agencies under the ministry.
Meanwhile, Communications and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo arrived at the ministry's building here at 8.15am before attending a briefing with the top management and agencies under the ministry.
Defence Minister Mohamad Sabu, on the other hand, was greeted by a salute before he inspected the Guard of Honour to mark his first day of work at Dataran Wisma Pertahanan in Jalan Padang Tembak, Kuala Lumpur.
Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali who reported for work at his office at 7.45am, also attended a briefing session given by officers of the Economic Planning Unit and the Prime Minister's Department.
At his first press conference, Azmin announced that the federal government would review all mega projects, as well as projects which had been given acceptance letters and approved by the previous government.
Other ministers who also reported for duty today were Rural Development Minister Rina Mohd Harun; Education Minister Dr Maszlee Malik; Health Minister Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad; Housing and Local Government Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin and Transport Minister Anthony Loke. — Bernama
