Student killed in Lahad Datu motorcycle accident

LAHAD DATU: A male student died after the motorcycle he was riding skidded at Sahabat 6, Jalan Tungku, Felda Sahabat near here yesterday evening.
In the 6.30pm incident, Lahad Datu acting police chief ACP Mohd Fadzil Ali said the victim, Muhammad Mahathir Tiling, 16, died at the scene.
"The accident occurred when the victim was travelling from Cenderawasih towards Anjung Teduh and upon reaching a corner, the motorcycle was believed to have lost control and skidded to the right and crashed into the divider before the rider was thrown to the road shoulder on the right," he said in a statement here today.
Mohd Fadzil said the cause of death was due to severe head injury and the matter was confirmed by Dr Charles Suli.
He said the case would be investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. — Bernama
