10% pay cut for all Cabinet Ministers

PUTRAJAYA: All ministers in the Pakatan Harapan government will have 10% of their salaries cut to reduce government expenditures, said Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, today.
"In the beginning there was only one body created to obtain information and implement its intended function.
"However as time passes by, we see many political elements usurping with these agencies being used as the (previous) government's political tool.
"We do not want to repeat the previous government's practice," he told reporters after chairing the first Pakatan Harapan cabinet meeting, here, today.
In addition to salary cuts, Mahathir also announced the disbandment of the Malaysian Professors Council (MPN) and well as the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) whose tasks will be taken over by the Transport Ministry.
