TAIWANESE singer A-Lin (below) has embarked on a new world tour in support of her latest and ninth album, simply titled A-Lin.
Besides making pitstops in Taipei, Singapore and Hongkong, she will be performing at the Arena of Stars, Resorts World Genting, on June 2 at 8.30pm.
Organised by Star Planet, the I am A-Lin concert will see her performing many of her hits as well as sharing her life story and personal journey with fans.
She hopes to establish a closer bond with her fans through her new series of concerts, and to use her music to uplift her fans' spirit and instil courage in them in times of trouble.
"I feel amazed that my music can influence others," said A-Lin. "I believe music will keep the fountain of joy alive in you and I will never give up producing good music."
A-Lin is an aboriginal Taiwanese singer of Amis descent (her Amis name is Lisang Pacidal Koyouan).
She made her debut in the musical world in 2006 and has enjoyed great commercial success ever since.
Among her signature songs are Before, After, Loneliness is Not the Hardest Part and We Will Be Better.
She was initially compared to A-Mei, another Taiwanese superstar who hails from the aboriginal tribe Puyuma, because of their minority background, and the fact that A-Lin used to cover A-Mei's songs in her early concerts.
However, she has since carved her own niche in the music industry, and is especially popular among the Mandarin-speaking crowd.
She has also tried her hand at producing her latest album, as well as learned new ways to express her emotions in her compositions and performance.
