1Malaysia logo taken down from Pahang UTC

KUANTAN: The giant-sized 1Malaysia logo has been taken down from the Pahang Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) here today.
The work to take down the logo started at 8 am and was completed about two hours later.
Kuantan Municipal Council Public Relations head Izad Zainal Muhammad Safian said it was in line with the directive issued recently by the National Strategy Unit of the Finance Ministry.
"It ordered all 1Malaysia logos at UTCs to be taken down," he told reporters here.
The 1Malaysia concept was launched in 2009 by former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak.
The Pahang UTC, which houses various government agencies such as Road Transport Department and Immigration Department, started operating on April 1, 2013, and was officially opened by the sixth prime minister on April 11, 2013.
