Former Karamunting assemblyman quits LDP

SANDAKAN: Former Karamunting assemblyman Datuk Charles O Pang Su Pin has resigned from all posts in the Parti Liberal Demokratik (LDP) with immediate effect.
Charles, who is Elopura LDP Division chief and LDP supreme council member, announced his decision at the Elopura LDP Division meeting today.
In a statement here today, he said 18 Elopura LDP Division committee members, including the division deputy chief, two vice chiefs, youth chief and women chief also resigned from their posts.
He said the decision was made after they held the divisional level meeting here today.
"I am proud to have serve the party (LDP) since becoming the Karamunting LDP division youth chief in 2001 and happy to have left that legacy," said Charles,a lifetime member of LDP and former Sandakan Parliamentary Constituency Liaison chief.
He said the resignation letter has been submitted to LDP secretary-general Datuk Yong Wui Chung.
In the May 9 general election, the one-term Karamunting incumbent was not nominated to defend the state seat and was replaced by LDP president Lim Kai Min. — Bernama
