Woman found unconscious in Sungai Petani dies

SUNGAI PETANI: A 27-year-old woman, believed to have been a victim of assault in an incident at Paya Nahu flat near here, died at a clinic here yesterday.
Kuala Muda police chief ACP Saifi Abdul Hamid said the victim was found unconscious by a passer-by under a bridge in front of a private hospital, here.
"The victim was pronounced dead about 4.15 pm yesterday at the Sungai Petani Town Health Clinic.
"Initial investigations revealed that the incident occurred at Paya Nahu flat before the victim was placed under the bridge in front of the hospital," he said in a statement today.
Saifi said the police had detained three women and a man to facilitate investigations into the murder.
The body was sent to the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Star. — Bernama
