Nur Alya Damia did not show any strange behaviour prior to murder: Father

PORT DICKSON: Nineteen-year-old Nur Alya Damia, a final year student at the Port Dickson Vocational College who was found strangled to death here last night, did not show any strange behaviour before the mishap, according to her father Hairi Jamil, 45.
Hairi said the last time his daughter returned to their home in Klang, Selangor, was last week.
"She did not show any odd sign in her behaviour at the time, and I also allowed her to drive the family car to return to college and told her to drop off her younger sibling, who studies at Sekolah Menengah Teknik Seremban.
"I also spoke to her over the phone two days ago and she asked me to help look for a suitable company around Shah Alam and Klang for her to undergo her industrial training," he said when met by reporters at the Port Dickson Hospital here, today.
Hairi said his daughter stayed with three of her coursemates in a rented house in Taman Selasih, not far from the college.
One of her coursemates, Syarifah Noor Shahira Sheikh Mohd Zain, told Bernama that Nur Alya Damia seemed very cheerful during class yesterday.
She said all their coursemates were shocked and sad when they learned of her death.
"We immediately went to the scene when we received information about this incident and did not expect it to happen to (Nur Alya) Damia because we knew she had no problem with anyone," she said.
According to one of Nur Alya Damia's housemates, who wanted to be known only as Ain, at about 9 pm last night, the victim had informed her she was going to meet a guy who was also a student at the college.
"This guy lives in the same housing area as us," she said.
Nur Alya Damia was believed to have been killed in a car by her former boyfriend, before being dumped near a garbage dump site at the far end of the terrace housing area in Taman Permata PD.
Her body was found by a resident at 10.30pm and was taken to Port Dickson Hospital for post-mortem. — Bernama
