Nurse killed after crash with oncoming car

BUKIT MERTAJAM: A nurse was killed after her car crashed with an oncoming vehicle at Km8.1 of the Butterworth-Kulim Highway today.
In the 9.20am accident, a car driven by a 44-year-old man was said to have hit a parked car at the roadside before going out of control. It was believed to have swerved and skidded to the opposite lane.
The car was then said to have hit the nurse's vehicle and a four-wheel drive. All four vehicles involved were badly damaged and traffic came to a standstill.
Central Seberang Prai district police chief ACP Nik Ros Azhan Nik Abdul Hamid said the nurse, Nur Hidayah Mahmud, 32, succumbed to injuries.
He said the body has been sent to nearby hospital and post-mortem revealed that she died due to brain injury. A driver is being investigated for reckless driving.
