PETALING JAYA: More than 3,000 netizens have expressed their interest and support to the "Jom Bagi Coklat Kat Abang & Akak Polis" or #chocs4cops event this Saturday.
As the name suggests, this public event was meant to give out chocolates to police personnel in appreciation of the hard work they have done for the nation.
Though, the event is slated to take place between 4pm and 5pm at the federal police headquarters in Bukit Aman, event organisers have requested participatants who cannot make it to the venue to deliver those chocolates to their nearest police station around the same time and date of the event.
The organisers have also requested that netizens post photos or videos of police personnel accepting chocolates on their respective social media pages.
Description of the event as follows:
"In conjunction with the month of Ramadhan, let us all give chocolates to hardworking cops who've done their best to keep our beloved country safe. If you can't make it to the Sentul district police headquarters, you can deliver them to your nearest police station.
"Please deliver (the chocolates) to your local police station at the same time and day as stated. Then post your photos or videos on this page or your Facebook."
This interest event is believed to have been promted after former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak lamented that police personnel who conducted raids at his residence in relation to the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) case had helped themselves with chocolates in the fridge.
