KOTA KINABALU: The long-standing relationship between Sabah and Perlis should be enhanced by entrepreneurs to boost the economy in the two states, said the Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail (pix).
He said Perlis, which borders Thailand, was developing the Chuping Valley Industrial Area (CVIA) which was set to offer many business opportunities in the next few years.
He said well-known companies from Germany and India were among those which had expressed their commitment to invest in the CVIA, which would be developed over 1,217ha in Padang Besar, specifically for the green technology industry.
Tuanku Syed Faizuddin spoke at the breaking-of-the-fast with students of the Kota Kinabalu Mara Institute of Skills (IKM) last night in conjunction with the 'Ops Pasir 2018' programme from Thursday till Sunday.
Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal also attended the ceremony.
Ops Pasir is the Perlis government's annual programme, now into the 15th year, to distribute Ramadan contributions and Aidilfitri delicacies to security personnel stationed in eastern Sabah. — Bernama
