KLANG: The Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah today presented Aidilfitri contributions worth RM74,200 to 742 orphans at the Masjid Nurul Amin in Kampung Delek, Klang.
The contribution was from Yayasan Islam Darul Ehsan (YIDE), which is wholly owned by the Selangor Islamic Religious Council (MAIS) and responsible for the welfare of orphanages in Selangor.
Tengku Amir Shah arrived at the Nurul Amin Mosque in Kampung Delek here at around 12.20pm accompanied by MAIS chairman Datuk Mohammed Khusrin Munawi.
YIDE acting chief executive officer Nur Mohd Razali Abdullah said the allocation was to assist the orphans and underprivileged children around the Klang district in their preparations for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.
"YIDE has also received RM10,000 from the Northport (Malaysia) Berhad to be distributed to these children and we are very grateful with the contribution and hope the Northport management will continue to assist in the same programme next year," he said.
He added that for 2018, YIDE allocated RM849,200 to be distributed to 8,492 orphans throughout Selangor who have registered with the foundation and another RM23,200 to two orphanages under its watch.
