KUALA LUMPUR: The government needs the people's support to rebuild the country for a more secure future, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
In this regard, she said the people needed to be united and together with the government pursue a better future for the country.
"Winning or losing is normal in elections but what is important is that we bring our country towards something better.
"The winner must be the people, we together are the winners for a future that we sketch together," she said at the Iftar Perdana Programme at Nurul Hidayah Mosque, Kampung Pandan Dalam, here today.
Also present were Pakatan Rakyat (PH) de-facto chief Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Pandan Indah assemblyman Izham Hashim.
Dr Wan Azizah, who is also Pandan Member of Parliament, said the PH victory in the 14th General Election (GE14) was due to the sincerity of the coalition in wanting to serve the people.
PH ended the six-decade rule of the Barisan Nasional by winning GE14. — Bernama
