Respect month of Ramadan, avoid slander: Tengku Abdullah

LIPIS: Muslims have been reminded to respect the sanctity of the month of Ramadan by not making slanderous and insulting remarks against others as well as creating fake news which can incite hatred and stir up enmity among themselves.
In making the call, the Regent of Pahang Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah said such acts would only bring harm to the future generation and the country.
"In conjunction with Ramadan, I would like to remind myself and other Muslims to always remain united and avoid disputes so that we can live together in peace and harmony," he said in his speech at the opening of the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Mosque and a breaking of fast event here yesterday evening.
Also present was Pahang Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail.
The mosque measuring 1,095 square metres built at a cost of RM4.22 million can accommodate a congregation of 1,200 people at any one time.
Tengku Abdullah also called on the committee members of the mosque to actively carry out spiritual and intellectual programmes which could help make Muslims a community of excellence.
He also advised a total of 3,000 settlers of Felda Sungai Koyan 1, 2, and 3 as well as the Muslim Orang Asli community living nearby, to make best use of the facilities provided at the new mosque. — Bernama
