Johor exco first to follow federal govt move to take 10% pay cut
JOHOR BARU: Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Osman Sapian said state executive council members had agreed to a 10% salary cut at their second meeting today.
The move was in line with the federal government's announcement to reduce the salary of Cabinet ministers by 10%, making Johor the first state to follow the federal government's move.
Osman said the meeting also decided that recognition would be given to the state's opposition leader and that allowance and office would also be provided to him.
"This is the new recognition awarded under the Pakatan Harapan state government," he added.
Osman said the state government has approved a special RM1,000 Aidilfitri aid for civil servants and staff of local authorities and statutory bodies in the state.
"Various issues were discussed and among the matters approved was Aidilfitri aid payout," he said in a statement here today. — Bernama
