10 passengers suffer injuries after man makes bomb joke in a plane (Video)
AN uncalled for act by a man who made a bomb joke in a plane resulted in a pandemonium.
In the ensuing chaos, 10 passengers suffered injuries, some as severe as broken bones and head wounds.
The incident happened in a Jakarta bound plane with almost 200 passengers before it took off from Borneo Islands.
A man identified as Nirigi was heard telling a flight attendant of the presence of a bomb in the plane.
This resulted in another passenger breaking open the emergency exit in a haste, ensuring the eruption of panic in the plane.
Passengers then disembarked through the emergency exits, pushing and shoving each other, disobeying calls from the flight crew to leave in a calm and orderly manner.
Some of them were seen sliding from the right engine and landing flat on the tarmac.
A spokesperson for the airline said the flight was delayed by an hour, adding that a 'bomb joke' is not a valid reason for someone to break open the emergency exit.
The man who made the prank was arrested along with the man who broke open the emergency exit.
Below is a video of passengers disembarking from the flight:
