KUALA LUMPUR: In conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri, the Prisons Department has set the third and fourth day of the festival as visiting days for Muslim inmates.
Prisons Department deputy director Supri Hasim said the dates involved all prisons, rehabilitation centres, special rehabilitation and detention centres, as well as the Henry Gurney School.
"There will be no visits on the first two days of Aidilfitri. Priority of the Aidilfitri visit will be given to Muslim inmates, with visiting hours from 8.15am to 4.15pm," he said in a statement here today.
Supri said to facilitate visiting arrangements, visitors are required to show their visitation and identifications cards.
"Prisoners are prohibited from receiving external food and drinks as they can be bought from the prison canteen. Visitors are also advised not to give money to the inmates as the department has provided them with basic facilities. — Bernama
