Irwan Serigar resigns as IRB chairman

    PETALING JAYA: Former Treasury secretary-general Tan Sri Dr Mohd Irwan Serigar Abdullah has stepped down from his role as the chairman of the Inland Revenue Board (IRB).
    The tax authority said in a statement that Irwan's resignation came into effect on May 23, 2018.
    The role, it said, will be filled by the new Treasury secretary-general who will be appointed in accordance to the IRB of Malaysia Act 1995.
    Irwan, who was transferred to the Public Service Department from the Finance Ministry, is also no longer on the board of Bank Negara Malaysia, Khazanah Nasional Bhd and Lembaga Tabung Haji.
