Check Tabung Harapan account number before making transaction: Guan Eng

KUALA LUMPUR: Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng has advised the public to check the account number for Tabung Harapan Malaysia (THM) first before conducting any transaction.
He said this after it was found that fake posters were being spread on the social media about the fund with an account number that was different from the one previously announced.
"The account number on the fake poster is different from the THM account number 5660-1062-6452 (Maybank) which was previously announced," he said in a statement today.
Lim said the ministry would lodge a police report against anyone who attempted to take advantage of the goodness of the public.
Since it was launched on Wednesday until 3pm today, THM had collected RM18.6 million.
The fund was launched by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad after members of the public said they wanted to help the government reduce the national debt of RM1 trillion. — Bernama
