Indonesian male detained for stabbing colleague

BUTTERWORTH: An Indonesian male was seriously stabbed in a fight at a hotel in Jalan Bagan Luar, here last night.
The 29-year-old man is now being treated at Hospital Seberang Jaya and his situation was reported to be stable.
In this regard, police detained a 25-year-old man who was also an Indonesian national and was a colleague of the victim to assist the investigation.
Seberang Perai Utara (SPU) District Police Chief, ACP Noorzainy Mohd Noor the incident was reported at 9.05 last night at the workplace of the two Indonesian men.
"The suspect used a penknife to stab the victim and the fight between the two men was broken up by their friends," he said here today.
He said the preliminary investigation revealed that the incident was due to the status in the social website Facebook uploaded by the victim which dissatisfied his colleague.
Police also seized the knife which was believed to be used in the incident and a handphone belonging to the suspect, he said.
Meanwhile, in another development, Noorzainy said police detained a Myanmar man who was alleged to have outraged the modesty of two local women working at two supermarkets, here.
He said the 26-year-old man was arrested at a supermarket in Butterworth at about 11 pm last night after police received reports from the two women who complained that the suspect had molested them while working at the supermarkets in Sungai Puyu and Sungai Dua, here.
"According to the two victims aged 18 and 21 years old, the suspect embraced them from behind. In fact, the suspect also threatened to come back and disturb the victims and invited them to have sexual relations.
"The suspect was also reported to show vulgar signs to the two workers. The incident was recorded by the CCTVs which were installed in both supermarkets," he said. — Bernama
