Six teens, boys charged with injuring Pakistani man

KUALA LUMPUR: Five teenagers and two 12-year-old boys were charged in the Sessions Court here today with injuring a Pakistani man while attempting to rob him, last month.
Mohamad Zulkifar Zulkefli,19, Mohamad Zulkarnain Rosli,18, two 15-year-old juveniles, a 13-year-old male and the 12-year-old boys pleaded not guilty after the charge was read out to them before judge Rohatul Akmar Abdullah.
All of them were jointly charged with voluntarily causing hurt on Pakistani contract worker Muhammad Abrar, 31 during an attempted robbery on the Sungai Besi LRT pedestrian bridge here at 11pm on May 21.
The charge, under Section 394 of the Penal Code, read together with Section 34 of the same code carries a maximum jail term of 20 years and fine or whipping, upon conviction.
Earlier deputy public prosecutor Kamarul Aris Kamaluddin did not offer any bail as it was a non bailable offence but lawyer K. Komagan representing Mohamad Zulkarnain and the five juveniles requested for a low bail.
The court allowed Mohamad Zulkarnain and four juveniles bail of RM1,200 in one surety each with an additional condition to report to the nearest police station once a week and ordered the accused not to disturb the prosecution witnesses.
The court fixed June 28 for re-mention. — Bernama
