Showcasing the beautiful game

07 Jun 2018 / 10:41 H.

THE Hungarian Film Fiesta, happening today until June 10 exclusively at GSC Pavilion in Kuala Lumpur, is aimed at satisfying our hunger for the ‘most beautiful game in the world’ as well as a nod to the Fifa World Cup 2018, which starts on June 14 in Russia.
Organised by the Embassy of Hungary, in collaboration with Golden Screens Cinemas and Cinema Online, the free screenings at the fiesta will showcase all football-themed films.
The films – 6:3 A.K.A Past Plays Itself, Brazils, Puskás Hungary, and Barca’s Untold Legends – will give football fans a glimpse into Hungary’s deep love of the sport, as well as the history behind some of its greatest players.
The film, 6:3 A.K.A Past Plays Itself, is also an apt commemoration of the 65th anniversary of the iconic match between Hungary and England.
On that day on Nov 25, 1953, in London, Hungary beat England 6-3, making it the first team to defeat England on English ground in 90 years.
There was also a preview of Puskás Hungary, a documentary about the life of the great Hungarian footballer Ferenc Puskás, after the press conference to announce the fiesta.
Present at the event were Ambassador of Hungary to Malaysia Attila Kali, GSC film festivals and international screens manager Tan Gaik Lian, and Cinema Online marketing director Dev Shadank.
Redeem free tickets for the films, on a first-come-first-served basis, at GSC Pavilion ticketing counters from now.
