Local Tamil film 'Vedigundu Pasangge' to show in Singapore and Sri Lanka

KUALA LUMPUR: Local Tamil film, "Vedigundu Pasangge" is set to break into international markets this July as it will not only be released in Malaysia, but also in Singapore and Sri Lanka.
Producer Denes Kumar said the movie, which will be released on July 26, was the third sequel of the Pasanga trilogy after that of "Vilayaatu Pasangge" (2011) and "Vetti Pasangge" (2014).
"This film, which was produced with a budget of RM1.5 million and took two years to be completed, is our effort to expand local movie by blending local and global elements to enable it to go far," he told Bernama.
He said he was also in a discussion with certain groups to enable the film to be screened in the United Kingdom next month.
Denes, a 36-year-old country's leading anchor and dancer who acted as the protagonist in the film, said "Vedigundu Pasengge" revolved around crime cases in Malaysia, especially among the Indian community.
"It also engages the audience with cynical approach of comedy elements and a touch of long distance romance," he added.
Denes said the film produced by Veedu Production featured about 150 casts, including local and Indian talents such as Teejay Arunachalam, Shakthisree Gopalan, Sathyaprakash Dharmar, Datin Seri Shaila Nair and Balan Kashmir, besides 'Adiwiraku' fame Sangeeta Krishnasamy and 'Ola Bola' cast Sarankumar Manokaran.
India's popular music directors, Vivek Siva and Mervin Solomon, composed the music for the film directed by Dr Vimala Perumal.
Five of the film's soundtracks launched on June 6, 2018, have also been well received, he added. — Bernama
