21 Sabah assemblymen absent during special State Assembly sitting

KOTA KINABALU: The special Sabah State Legislative Assembly sitting was held here today with the absence of 21 state assemblymen.
The 21 assemblymen were 11 from Umno; six from Parti Bersatu Sabah; two from Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku; one each from Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah and UPKO.
The special sitting which began at about 10.23am was the first state assembly sitting after the 14th General Election on May 9.
Besides the swearing in of the speaker, the special sitting also saw 43 state assemblymen including three appointed state assembly members take their oath of office.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal who is also the Senallang assemblyman led the assemblymen in taking their oath, followed by his three deputies Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau, Christina Liew and Datuk Jaujan Sambakong.
The sitting also saw the tabling of the no-confidence motion against Sungai Sibuga assemblyman Tan Sri Musa Aman who is also the former chief minister brought by Liew, who is also the State Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister. — Bernama
