EU keen to forge collaboration with Perak on environmental sustainability

IPOH: The European Union (EU) is keen to collaborate with the Perak state government on the sustainability of the environment and forests.
Mentri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu said the interest was expressed by EU's ambassadors and Diplomatic Heads of Mission to Malaysia during a meeting today.
"They are very keen to be involved in efforts that we have done on the sustainability of the environment and forests," he told reporters after the meeting here.
The two-hour meeting was attended by 17 ambassadors and special representatives from EU in Malaysia, including Austrian Ambassador Dr Michael Postl; Belgium's Ambassador Daniel Dargent and German Ambassador Nikolaus Graf Lamsdorff.
They are here in conjunction with the EU Head of Missions meeting, which began yesterday and will conclude this weekend.
Ahmad Faizal said the state government also took the opportunity to brief on investment opportunities that are available in Perak.
On the change of leadership, Ahmad Faizal said the visiting delegation was impressed that the power transition took place smoothly. — Bernama
