IGP to go in police shakeup?

PETALING JAYA: Will Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun be replaced and three departments in the police force shut down?
A newspaper today reported that a police force shakeup is next as the government embarks on change and "cleanses" the administration of the country.
Quoting unnamed sources, the Straits Times of Singapore reported that the Special Branch had already submitted the names of three candidates to replace the IGP who was appointed by embattled former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak.
The three departments expected to be affected closely are the Special Task Force for Anti-vice, Gaming and Gangsterism, Special Task Force on Organised Crime, and Special Tactical Intelligence Narcotics Group.
"Yes, there is going to be an 8.5 Richter shake-up (in the police force) soon in July," a source told the Singapore newspaper.
It reported that the three departments were suspected of being on the take and protecting criminals. After their closure, more top brass will also have to go, said the source.
Asked who would be the first to go, the source replied: "No. 1", referring to the IGP.
