National Affordable Housing Council to begin work on August

PUTRAJAYA: The National Affordable Housing Council is expected to begin its work by August once papers regarding its setting up are finalised by the Cabinet next month, said Housing and Local Government (KPKT) Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin (pix).
The council, she said is part of Pakatan Harapan's manifesto which will be tasked to monitor the construction of affordable housing, coordinating databases and to implement a self-renting scheme for the B40 and M40 groups nationwide.
"There is a need to coordinate the development and upgrading of the People's Housing Project (PPR)s and this council is expected to review the housing programmes thoroughly in order to find the most effective way of creating affordable housing for the rakyat," she told reporters at the ministry, here, today.
