Perak Umno veterans want Tengku Razaleigh as party president

IPOH: Perak Umno veterans want Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah (pix) to be chosen as the next party president uncontested.
Its chairman Datuk Abdul Khalid Nasir said the veterans also proposed for Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to be retained as party deputy president uncontested.
"Datuk Mustafa Mohamed should be appointed as secretary-general while other positions may be contested," he said in a statement here today.
Abdul Khalid said Umno must take advantage of the party elections to restructure its leadership organisation by choosing those that could lead the party effectively in facing new challenges. — Bernama
