PUTRAJAYA: Pakatan Harapan and PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim met former UK premier David Cameron in London to thank him for raising the issue of his imprisonment and subsequent treatment on several occasions to local officials.
"Met with former UK Prime Minister David Cameron to thank him for raising the issue of my incarceration and treatment in prison on several occasions to Malaysian officials.
"Listened to his views on key issues to consider in formulating a successful transition," he posted on his Facebook page, today.
Anwar also reiterated Malaysia's expectation that investigators around the world will assist with investigations into dubious deals including 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) so that the government can return to Malaysians what is rightfully theirs.
Cameron served as the United Kingdom's prime minister from 2010 to 2016.
During his tenure, Cameron had openly criticised Anwar's incarceration and had his senior security advisers meet Anwar's daughter Nurul Izzah Anwar prior to the 14th General Election.
