Get in on the World Cup action

14 Jun 2018 / 12:07 H.

AS THE whistle blows for the start of the opening match of the Fifa World Cup 2018 between host Russia and Saudi Arabia at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow at 11pm tonight, get ready for some world-class action with your favourite Carlsberg beer on hand.
It's just the thing to cool things down when the heat of battle rises.
In the meantime, score some exclusive merchandise representing six of the top countries playing in the World Cup in the Carlsberg’s Probably the Best Football Beer campaign running until July 15.
Get to redeem themed jerseys, invertible umbrellas, and jersey-shaped bottles, and can cooler sleeves inspired by the six World Cup qualifiers – England, France, Germany, Brazil, Spain, and Portugal.
The campaign is also offering limited football edition bottles and cans featuring the flags of the six selected countries in its signature hop leaf design.
To top it off, you can also win an all-expense-paid trip for two to a Liverpool FC match in the UK, when you participate in Probably the Best Football Beer Game online.
Carlsberg’s Probably the Best Football Beer campaign was officially launched last week at Pavilion KL with an extravagant display of performances inspired by the selected six countries, and the launch area decked out in all things football.
Emcees Michelle Lee and Mark O’dea kept guests entertained by asking football trivia questions, in exchange for Probably the Best Football Kit – a whole set of the limited edition merchandise on offer.
According to Carlsberg Malaysia managing director Lars Lehmann, the brewery’s latest campaign embodies its Probably the Best tagline for the ultimate beer and football combo experience.
He said: “We believe that the Probably the Best Football Beer campaign is all we need to unite football fans.
“As Malaysians gear up for the most anticipated football event, we want to reward our consumers with exciting promotions, exclusive merchandise, an interactive online game, and limited edition products.”
To get your hands on some of the merchandise, simply collect the bottle caps from the large quart football edition bottles of Carlsberg, or the Carlsberg Smooth Draught POP caps, and exchange them for a jersey or umbrella when you have 36 or 24 caps respectively.
Meanwhile, 12 bottle caps will allow you to trade for one 320ml can of Carlsberg Smooth Draught.
Order two buckets of Carlsberg or Carlsberg Smooth Draught the next time you’re out at a bar or pub, and get a dose of cuteness for your bottle in the form of a jersey-shaped cooler sleeve.
If enjoying a match at home with friends is more up your alley, you can get your hands on a limited edition Carlsberg football can cooler sleeve instead.
Just head to your nearest participating hypermarket or supermarket and pick up a Carlsberg or Carlsberg Smooth Draught Football edition six-can pack.
You’ll also be eligible for more prizes when you buy either of the football edition six-can pack during roadshows at participating hypermarkets.
There will also be over 3,000 parties nationwide, for fans to enjoy football matches with chilled Carlsberg and Carlsberg Smooth Draught beers.
Join in the all-football interactive activities at selected outlet parties, and you can win a set of the limited edition merchandise, plus a chance at winning a Hisense 39in LED TV, or Vivo V71 Smartphone.
“Furthermore, the campaign is also hitting the digital scene with Probably the Best Football Beer Game (www.probablythebest.com.my/football),” said Lehmann.
Besides being an online game where football fans can play and use their football knowledge to predict the scores, fans can also catch up on the latest World Cup updates, outlet parties, and promotions.
