Four-way fight for Umno presidency on the cards

PETALING JAYA: The battle for Umno presidency is expected to be a four-way affair between acting party chief Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah, Rahmat Azim Abdul Aziz and its Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin.
Khairy, the Rembau MP, is expected to throw his hat into the ring today, which is the last day for submissions of nomination papers for the party polls on June 30.
The Star today quoted sources as saying Khairy is expected to officially announce he is contesting the Umno presidency.
Razaleigh announced yesterday will take on Ahmad Zahid Hamidi for the party's top post. The Gua Musang Umno division chief confirmed his intention to contest at a press conference at his residence in Jalan Langgak Golf in Kuala Lumpur.
Tengku Razaleigh who is also Gua Musang MP said he made the decision after much deliberation on Umno's current status and the implications of its leadership.
The relatively unknown contender Rahmat is a businessman and a blogger.
