BELURAN: The roof of two buildings at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Telupid housing eight classrooms were blown away by sudden strong winds this evening.
In the incident at about 3.30pm, the freak wind blew away several pieces of zinc roof sheets from a teachers' quarters and the school administration block.
The windshield of a car in the garage of a school employee also shattered after it was being crushed by collapsing roof of the shed.
SK Pekan Telupid co-curricular senior assistant Wiwean Sangau when contacted by Bernama tonight said there was no one around the school compound during the incident.
He said a school building housing four classrooms for Year Five and Three also had its roof completely blown away while the block for Year Six and Two classrooms had half of its roof ripped off.
He said the strong wind also damaged the entire bus stop structure near the school.
In this regard, Beluran MP Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee requested the Education Ministry to carry out repairs on the affected premises before school session starts next week. — Bernama
