Khairy confirms going for top Umno post

PETALING JAYA: Outgoing Umno youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin has confirmed that he will run for the president post at the upcoming party elections despite his earlier indication that he will only run only for the vice-president post.
The confirmation was made by Khairy through his Instragram account, khairykj, where he had posted a photo of his nomination paper there.
The Rembau MP is slated to be up against four other individuals mainly Gua Musang MP and Umno veteran Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah, Umno acting president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and a regular Umno member, blogger Rahmat Azim Abdul Aziz.
A source close to Khairy said the former youth chief will issue a statement soon.
