Bangladeshi wireman charged with fraudulent possession of internet, telephone cables
PETALING JAYA: A Bangladeshi wireman was charged in the Magistrate's Court here today for fraudulent possession of Internet and telephone cables.
Emran Ali, 25, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge when the case came up before Judge Mabel S. Muttiah.
He was charged with fraudulent possession of the cables by the road side at Jalan 51A/230, Sungei Way, here at 5.10pm last June 1.
The offence, under the Minor Offences Act 1955, provides an imprisonment for up to a year, or fine of up to RM1,000, or both, if found guilty.
Emran also pleaded not guilty to a charge under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 with entering the country without a valid permit at the same place, time and date.
The offence provides a fine of up to RM10,000, or imprisonment for up to five years or both, if found guilty.
