SEREMBAN: Diesel has leaked into a small river near Kuala Pilah after a tanker lorry with 20,000 litres of the fuel overturned into a three-metre-deep ravine following an accident with a car along Jalan Pelangai Hilir today.
Kuala Pilah Fire and Rescue Service operations officer Senior Fire and Rescue Officer II Mohd Zakaria Ramli said the lorry knocked into an oncoming Proton Saga car after avoiding a car in front that had spun around and then continued on its journey at 7.46am.
"The lorry was heading from Kuala Pilah to Juasseh when the accident happened. The drivers of the lorry and Proton Saga car were injured and sent to the Tuanku Ampuan Najihah Hospital. The lorry attendant was unhurt," he said when contacted by Bernama.
Mohd Zakaria said Department of Environment personnel were also at the scene as work went on to transfer the diesel from the lorry and clean up the oil in the river. — Bernama
