Watsons Malaysia puts its heart into its efforts and gives back to the community through a corporate social responsbility undertaking through its #MisiIkhlasAidilfitri campaign.
Aptly named “Misi Ikhlas” which means sincere or honest, the endeavour aimed at sharing concern and care for the elderly during the fasting month.
The “Mission Possible” involved some 60 senior individuals from the Darul Insyirah Centre for Senior Citizens located at Jalan Melati in Kuala Lumpur. They were ferried to the Bangi Golf Resort and treated to a delicious spread and entertaining performances.
“For this Hari Raya festivities, our mission is to remind Malaysians to feel great first, hence, the idea of the #MisiIkhlasAidilfitri campaign, by encouraging good deeds with pure and honest intentions,” said Watsons managing director Caryn Loh.
Watsons is running its festive campaign between May 15 and July 2. It encourages customers to share their good deeds on social media (Facebook or Instagram) adding in the hashtag #MisiIkhlasAidilfitri and #WatsonsMalaysia.
For every hash-tagged post, Watsons will donate 200 points (equivalent to RM1) to the Darul Insyirah Centre. At the end of the campaign, Darul Insyirah will be able to redeem the accumulated points for Watsons products. “It is important to promote a caring society among Malaysians to help the elderly celebrate their golden years with dignity and independence,” said Loh.
“At Watsons, we encourage our customers to ‘Look Good, Feel Great’ and feeling great does not refer to the material things that we possess, rather an emotionally fulfilling experience for you and your loved ones,” she explained.
Green packets and cookies were also given handed out to the elderly guests.
Overwhelmed was founder and chairperson of the home Asral Widad Ahmad Asnawi. “This is the first time a big company such as Watsons has come to Darul Insyirah, and hopefully not the last.”
