LIFE is about new adventures and experiences and Louisa Clark is about to embark on the adventure of a lifetime in this novel by Jojo Moyes.
She arrives in New York to start a new job, leaving her family, friends, and most importantly her boyfriend back in England.
Long-distance relationships are tricky but Louisa is confident that she can embrace this new adventure and keep her relationship with paramedic Sam despite the thousands of miles separating them.
She enters the household of the super-rich Gopniks – Leonard and his much younger second wife, Agnes – as the mistress of the house's assistant, and is engulfed into a whirlwind of high society.
But there's always a price to pay for all the privileges of the rich and famous, and Louisa finds herself surrounded by household tensions and secrets, which ultimately creates a catastrophic change in her circumstances.
At the same time, she meets Joshua Ryan, a man who brings with him a whisper of her past, while Sam gets a new partner who seems determined take over Louisa's place in his heart and home.
When things come to a head, Louisa must figure out who she is and what she really wants.
This book is a delightful read about self discovery. There are tears and joys and lessons to be learnt.
