Jamal Yunos' house robbed by bogus bodyguards

AMPANG: Four men robbed the private home of Red Shirts leader Datuk Seri Jamal Yunos (pix) here on Sunday after gaining entry by pretending to be his bodyguards.
In the 8.30am incident, the men who were all locals claimed to be Jamal's personal bodyguards and were waived past security.
The guards were hesitant in apprehending the suspects after they claimed they were the personal aides of Jamal looking to collect several items.
Among their haul were twenty designer handbags, twenty branded sunglasses, a large suitcase and three mobile phones.
They also stole two closed-circuit television (CCTV) decoders, therefore, leaving no video evidence of the crime.
However, police lifted five fingerprints from the scene.
The house was already searched by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commision (MACC) personnel prior to this and was therefore already in disarray.
One of the robbers even told Jamal's security at the house that they are grabbing Jamal's clothes and shoes claiming that they were being underpaid by Jamal for their services.
Selangor CID chief SAC Fadzil Ahmat who confirmed the matter said: "We have yet to ascertain the amount lost and the case is still currently under investigation."
Jamal, who is wanted by the police, is believed to have fled the country.
Police are investigating the case as burglary under Section 380 of the Penal Code.
