Man arrested for possessing RM880 of drugs at a playground

BUKIT MERTAJAM: Police have arrested a man and seized several packets containing various types of drugs worth a total of RM880 at a playground near Taman Impian, Machang Bubok near here today.
Central Seberang Prai district police chief ACP Nik Ros Azhan Nik Abdul Hamid said the 20-year-old suspect from Alor Star was nabbed by police during a crime prevention operation after he was spotted behaving suspiciously at the playground.
"The man was detained on the spot and police conducted a body check on him during the operation," he said in a statement.
Nik Ros Azhan said through the body search police found a black box containing 20 transparent packets are believed to have contained ketamine, a pack of cannabis, a transparent packet containing three green pills and five yellow pills believed to be ecstasy, a piece of aluminium foil containing five Erimin pills and also a digital scale.
He said the suspect will be remanded for four days until June 23.
Nik Ros Azhan said the suspect who had two past records for drug related offenses will be investigated under Section 12 (3) and 6 of Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
