ALOR STAR: Former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak (pix), his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor and several family members returned to Kuala Lumpur this evening after a holiday in Langkawi.
They left the legendary resort island at 3.30pm on board a Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flight, said Umno Langkawi Division chief Datuk Nawawi Ahmad.
"Slightly delayed from 3pm," he said in a WhatsApp message to Bernama.
Najib and his family had flown into Langkawi on June 16.
A viral social media message then alleged that Najib and Rosmah intended to go from Langkawi to Myanmar and then to China and finally to Kazakhstan, the country of their daughter's in-laws after they were seen arriving in Langkawi with 30 pieces of luggage.
Najib, who is under investigation over the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) issue and several other related cases, has been prohibited from leaving the country following the Barisan Nasional defeat in the general election on May 9. — Bernama
