IPOH: The Perak Barisan Nasional (BN) Public Services and Complaints Bureau will continue to serve the public and provide assistance to the needy even after BN's defeat in the 14th general election (GE14).
Mohd Rawi Abdullah, who heads the bureau, said it is business as usual when it comes to helping those in need.
"Although BN lost, but the bureau will continue to function as our priority," he told theSun here today.
"We have been operating the bureau for the last 10 years with my financial contribution, the bureau needs about RM20,000 a month to cover expenses.
"This includes financial assistance for the needy on a monthly basis.
"Apart from those who seek help to solve cases of cheating, Ah Long and scams, there are people who walk in asking for hard cash to buy household goods, there are even some who have no money to go back home," he added.
He said the bureau has also discussed with private hospitals, the possibility of waiving medical fees for poor patients under their CSR programme.
"Some of the victims had shown their gratitude to the bureau by sending hampers after their problems are solved," he added.
